Testimonials

When I moved into my new house, I was shocked by how dirty and old the tiles in the entire house looked. I wasn't sure if they were supposed to be like that or if they were just really dirty. I decided to call Tile Cleaners and ask them to have a look and tell me what I could do to improve the look of my tiles. Tile Cleaners ® came the same weekend and managed to make my tiles look brand new. They also informed me that the sealer would protect my tiles for years to come. Amazing! Thank you guys! My floor looks gorgeous.

We got our tiles more than 25 years ago. We were told that we had a solvent sealer on our tiles, which apparently most companies wouldn't be able to strip off. However we rang a couple of places to check them out. No luck. A friend of mine recommended Tile Cleaners. We rang the guys and they agreed to have a look the next day. We decided to go ahead with the job after getting a satisfactory quote. Tile Cleaners team stripped and resealed our old tiles. We are very grateful for your help guys. Thank you again.

I have several different freshly laid tiles in my new house. All pathways have stone tiles and there are marble tiles in the bathrooms and porcelain in the kitchen. I needed to get them sealed and was not sure if it was possible to seal them all. I contacted Tile Cleaners because my dad recommended them. He had a similar situation in his house and was very happy with the job Tile Cleaners had done. I was very worried about my tiles since they were brand new and very expensive. Tile Cleaners team were very patient with me, explaining how they were going to apply the sealer on different types of tiles, what sealer they would use, how long it would last for and advised me on how to take care of my tiles. I called Tile Cleaners a few times confirming details, asking for prices, making sure they could to the job during the weekend etc. The guys were amazingly patient and helpful. When I had gathered all the information I wanted, I was ready to go ahead. The work done by Tile Cleaners actually took less time than what it took me looking for information about it. Sorry for the pain I caused, and again thank you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What steps should I take to maintain my floors after they have been cleaned and sealed? - Tile Cleaners

  • A: The technician who performs the cleaning and sealing of your floors will provide you with personalized maintenance advice specific to your tiled area. In general, we recommend using a mild cleaner, such as Spirit "Neutral Cleaner," at least once a week to keep your tiled floors well-maintained. Tiles with a textured surface may benefit from using a doodlebug instead of a mop for a more effective clean. It is important to avoid the use of harsh chemicals as they can diminish the longevity of the sealers. Additionally, when mopping, remember to change the water frequently to prevent spreading dirty water across your floors.

Other FAQs :

  • Q: Why do I still see marks on my polished marble/limestone/travertine even though it has been sealed?
  • A: Even though your polished marble/limestone/travertine has been sealed, you may still notice marks on the surface. It's important to understand that these marks are often not stains but rather etches. Acid-sensitive stones, such as these, can be affected by any acid, which can lead to a loss of polish and the creation of a dull or frosty surface. For example, red wine can cause both a stain and an etch on unsealed stone, but on a sealed stone, only the etch may be visible. Penetrating sealers function by sitting below the surface of the stone, preventing acid from deeply penetrating and causing stubborn stains, but they may not fully protect against surface etching. Acid can come in various forms, such as fruit juices, wine, salad dressings, or even urine in bathroom settings, and can cause damage. The good news is that this type of damage can typically be repaired.
    • Q: Does sealing my stone make it maintenance-free or eliminate the need for regular stone maintenance?
    • A: While nothing can be completely maintenance-free, sealing your stone surface can make it easier to clean and more resistant to staining. The sealing process creates a protective barrier that allows contaminants to sit on the surface for a longer time, giving you more opportunity to clean them up before they cause staining. Unsealed stone surfaces are more susceptible to immediate staining. It's important to understand that no stone sealing product can make a porous surface completely stain-proof, but it can significantly enhance its stain resistance. Additionally, using appropriate stone cleaning products plays a crucial role in maintaining the longevity and appearance of your stone.
      • Q: What type of guarantee is offered with tile sealing services?
      • A: Tile sealing services typically do not come with guarantees. The lifespan of our Impregnating Water Based Sealers is approximately up to 10 years, depending on various factors such as the quality of the stone, traffic levels, and maintenance practices. It is essential to note that sealing does not create an impenetrable barrier, but rather provides a timeframe to address spills. While an unsealed floor can stain immediately, a sealed floor is resistant to staining and allows for a reaction time of 4-5 hours. A penetrating sealer is applied just below the surface of the stone, preventing spills from penetrating and staining the stone. However, it is unable to prevent acid-based spills (like red wine, vinegar, urine, fruit juice, etc.) from causing etching or burning on the stone surface, leading to a dull or frosty appearance. It is crucial to promptly clean up spills of this nature to prevent permanent damage to the stone surface.
        • Q: Can Tile Cleaners restore my floors to their original, like-new appearance?
        • A: If your grout (and stone, if applicable) have not been sealed before, it is possible that certain stains, especially in high-traffic areas, may be permanent. However, if your grout (and stone, if applicable) have been previously sealed, the sealing should have prevented the penetration of dirt and other contaminants, resulting in an excellent outcome after cleaning.
          • Q: What measures can I take to maintain the fresh appearance of my stone tiles?
          • A: To maintain the fresh appearance of your stone tiles and grout, Tile Cleaners® suggests a weekly cleaning routine using a damp microfiber cloth and a mild detergent. This helps remove dirt and grime from the tiled surface. It's important to avoid using strong detergents that may affect the sealer. Instead, opt for mild detergents and pH-neutral substances. For optimal protection against staining, our top recommendation is to have your stone tiles sealed with one of our highest quality sealers. Sealing provides the best safeguard for your stone tiles.
