Q: Can honing damage my limestone?
A: Tile Cleaners® technicians use the highest quality machinery providing the best solutions without compromising your surfaces. Tile Cleaners® prides itself on specifically catering for each tile variety and each situation with the highest degree of care. Stone based tiles are usually more porous requiring more attention than man made tiles, which is why its extremely important to use correct products and equipment to restore your tiles to their best possible condition.

Q: How will you charge me for honing my limestone surfaces?
A: Tile Cleaners® charge per square meter for each separate room. There is a price list on the Tile Cleaners® website for you to review. Before we begin our work we will measure each room individually, confirm the work to be carried out as well as confirm all costs with you.

Q: Can honing remove lippage from tiling?
A: Lippage is the term given to uneven tiles that are set higher than one another, which usually requires a more aggressive process than honing in order to create a completely flat surface. Grinding is recommended for excessive lippage.

Q: What is the difference between your honing service and polishing service?
A: Honing and polishing produce fairly opposite results. Polishing produces a glossy finish while honing produces a more matte finish. Honed surfaces can hide some imperfections such as scratches, and some everyday dirt, whereas polishing will reflect light and imperfections more than a honed surface.

Q: How long will it take to hone my limestone surfaces?
A: This will depend on the size of the area; larger jobs can require up to 3 days while honing a bench-top can take up to half a day. Tile Cleaners® do try to ensure work is completed within the same day to avoid as much disruption to your home or business as possible.
