Frequently Asked Questions
Other FAQs :
- Q: What is the difference between honing and grinding?
- A: Grinding refers to the removal of large amounts of material from the surface of the stone. Grinding is used to remove deep scratches and staining as well as lippage(uneven surface) thereby smoothing out the surface of the area making it uniform. Honing is the smoothing of the stone, not as aggressive as grinding and removes very little material from the stone, giving a matte(not glossy as with polishing) look to the surface.
- Q: How will you charge me for grinding my surfaces?
- A: Tile Cleaners® charge per square meter for each separate room. There is a price list on the Tile Cleaners® website for you to review. Before we begin our work we will measure each room individually, confirm the work to be carried out as well as confirm all costs with you.
- Q: Are your products toxic?
- A: Here at Tile Cleaners® we understand the importance of your family's safety, which is why we prefer to use non-toxic finishing agents as we not only want to protect your floors, but your families health too. Materials and agents that present potential health hazards are not in our product portfolio and never have been.
- Q: What different types of tiles do Tile Cleaners grind?
- A: Indoor and outdoor areas, polished, matte finish, porous, pre-sealed, wherever you have tiles we have a restoration solution. External tiles, natural stone paver's, all bathroom tiles and wall tiles. Tile Cleaners® grind sandstone, granite, marble, bluestone, travertine and limestone.
- Q: Do I need to apply a sealer to my stone?
- A: Tile Cleaners® recommend our clients apply a long lasting water based sealer such as a quality product from Australia's Deepshield® range of sealer's to their tiles as soon as they have been resurfaced. Your stone will maintain its beautiful character for longer, while also reduce the amount of required regular cleaning.
