Other FAQs :
- Q: Can honing leave my floors shiny?
- A: No, honing produces the opposite effect to having your floors polished. Honing will result in a smooth, matte, non reflective finish and will only appear shiny, or glossy where the honing process is followed by a polishing process.
- Q: How do I measure the size of the area to be honed?
- A: We recommend that you measure each room separately. The simplest way to measure is by multiplying the width by the length. For example a room that is 3 meters long and 2 meters wide is 3 X 2 = 6m2 in total.
- Q: Can honing remove deep stains in the limestone?
- A: Honing will remove scratches and stains and give a more uniform appearance to your surface.
- Q: How long will it take to hone my limestone surfaces?
- A: This will depend on the size of the area; larger jobs can require up to 3 days while honing a bench-top can take up to half a day. Tile Cleaners® do try to ensure work is completed within the same day to avoid as much disruption to your home or business as possible.
- Q: What is the difference between your honing service and polishing service?
- A: Honing and polishing produce fairly opposite results. Polishing produces a glossy finish while honing produces a more matte finish. Honed surfaces can hide some imperfections such as scratches, and some everyday dirt, whereas polishing will reflect light and imperfections more than a honed surface.
