Q: Can honing leave my floors shiny? - Honing Natural Stone | Honing Limestone Tiles

A: No, honing produces the opposite effect to having your floors polished. Honing will result in a smooth, matte, non reflective finish and will only appear shiny, or glossy where the honing process is followed by a polishing process.

Q: What should I do to prepare for the surface honing?
A: Move all furniture and items off the floor so it is ready for when we arrive.

Q: What different types of limestone tiles do Tile Cleaners hone?
A: Indoor and outdoor, polished, matte finish, porous, pre-sealed, wherever you have tiles we have a restoration solution. External tiles, natural stone paver's, all bathroom tiles and wall tiles. Tile Cleaners® cater for each and every different type of surface you might have.

Q: Can honing remove lippage from tiling?
A: Lippage is the term given to uneven tiles that are set higher than one another, which usually requires a more aggressive process than honing in order to create a completely flat surface. Grinding is recommended for excessive lippage.

Q: How do I measure the size of the area to be honed?
A: We recommend that you measure each room separately. The simplest way to measure is by multiplying the width by the length. For example a room that is 3 meters long and 2 meters wide is 3 X 2 = 6m2 in total.

Q: Is honing limestone a messy process?
A: Most of our procedures use water in order to minimise dust production. Honing will create a slurry, however by employing state-of-the-art equipment and our years of expertise, once finished your surfaces will be left in their best possible condition.
