I have several different freshly laid tiles in my new house. All pathways have stone tiles and there are marble tiles in the bathrooms and porcelain in the kitchen. A: If your grout (and stone, if applicable) have not been sealed before, it is possible that certain stains, especially in high-traffic areas, may be permanent. Q: How often should I re-seal?
A: It depends on the type of sealer used and the amount of foot traffic the surface is exposed to. Australia's Deepshield® range of deep impregnating water based sealer's offer long term benefits with Deepshield Gold® lasting up to 15 years. Topical sealer's have a life expectancy of around 3 years. If you have a high amount of foot traffic or perhaps severe weather conditions(for outdoor tiles) you may experience a shorter lifetime. Sealing your floors can also depend on the surfaces condition. Once they start showing patchy areas and begin staining easily then you should have them resealed. A: To obtain an accurate measurement of the stone area, we suggest measuring each room individually. Simply multiply the width by the length of the room. For instance, if a room measures 3 meters in length and 2 meters in width, the calculation would be 3 * 2 = 6m² in total.
